Regional Conference Day Brings Educators Together to Forge a New Path

Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District was proud to host this year’s Regional Conference Day, bringing together educators from Cobleskill-Richmondville, Duanesburg, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Sharon Springs, Schoharie, and Middleburgh under the theme “Forging a New Path.”
Held at Golding Middle School and Ryder Elementary School, this year’s conference centered on the New York State Education Department’s Portrait of a Graduate, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Colleagues across districts explored practical strategies to help students develop the skills, adaptability, and resilience needed for tomorrow.
The day began with a keynote presentation by Michael Saccocio, Executive Director of City Mission of Schenectady, who spoke to all attendees about servant leadership and prioritizing the growth and well-being of our students.
Following the keynote, staff participated in a variety of sessions and workshops focused on the Portrait of a Graduate and MTSS, exploring ways to strengthen student support, respond to individual needs, and prepare students for success beyond the classroom.
A special thank you to Ali Hearn, who returned this year to share her expertise with select teams from each district on MTSS processes and interventions.
C-RCS would also like to recognize and thank the guest presenters who shared their knowledge and expertise throughout the morning and afternoon breakout sessions:
- Natalie McGee - Educational Consultant
- Annie Gersztoff, Anna Winters, Jenn Case, Amy Bennett, Sarah Cioffi, and Tom Stanton – Capital Region BOCES
- Kelly Becker, Mary Heather Guyer-Monczewski, Andrew Drescher, Brianne Slater, and Aaron Pamel – Middleburgh Elementary School
- Jody DeJong and Rachel May – Middleburgh Jr./Sr. High School
- CREATE Community Studios
The Regional Conference Day reflects the value of bringing neighboring districts together to share knowledge, learn from one another, and explore new approaches to education. By working collaboratively and embracing new ideas, educators are helping forge a path toward stronger support systems and meaningful opportunities for every student.
Cobleskill-Richmondville thanks all of the guest speakers, participating districts, presenters, and staff members who helped make this year's conference a success. Together, we continue to learn, grow, and prepare our students for the future.
